Unit 3 Reflections

1. Based on your reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being optimal wellbeing), where do you rate your A-physical wellbeing, B-spiritual well-being, C-psychological well-being? Why?

A.) Physical Well-being for me would be a six because i am not overweight and not too skinny but i need to work on my upper body strength. I can do about six or less push ups and i weigh 150lbs. Because i lacked the strength to carry my body i failed the CBP fitness test and i am just glad that i know what i need to work on.

B.) Spiritual Well-Being for me would be a eight. I do believe in a higher power and that having faith in God will never steer me wrong, but i am human and sometimes i do not always follow what should be expected of me spiritually.

C.) Psychological Well-being for me would probably be below five. I have been through so many hardships in my chilhood until now. I tend to keep all of it in but there are times where it is too much and i feel like i might go psycho or crazy. Because of this i abuse myself with alcohol to escape my reality. This to me is not very good.

2. Develop a goal for yourself in each area (physical, spiritual, psychological).

Physical: Go to the gym every other day and remain active physically. Cut back on drinking and smoking. Honestly i have already begun going to the gym or always being physically active. I really need to work on the drinking and smoking though.

Spiritual: Take some time to myself to thank God for all the things that he has blessed me with on a daily basis.

Psychological: Learn to vent to others who i trust. This is kind of hard for me because i hate being pitied. (once again something that happened when i was a child.) Hard for me to forget what i went through or what was said to me so i am the way i am because i carry the past with me and i just need to learn to let it go. I am hoping to really implement what i learned from this class into my daily life even after the class is over.

3. What activities or exercise can you implement in your life to assist in moving toward each goal?

I think that to reach all my goals i need to run more. Running helps me work out physically,, make me feel guilty to drink, lets me cut down on smoking to help my breathings, and keeps me in my head and away from others to pray to god and reflect on my life.

4. Complete the relaxation exercise The Crime of the Century. Describe your experience. (What it beneficial? Frustrating? etc.)

After listening to the exercise i was relaxed. I was a bit confused about the windows and the colors and their purpose but i felt okay. Relaxed physically but not mentally because i had to really try to keep my focus on the voice. I am just used to being busy so twenty minutes to relax is new because i keep thinking either i can do more school work or spend time with my daughter who is so understanding even if she barely sees me because of my schedule.
